Who we are
At Schools Mailing, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our schools and school suppliers. In this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided detailed information on when and why we collect data, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure. So, find a comfy chair and read on.
Types of data we collect and hold
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) aims to harmonise data protection legislation across EU member states, enhancing the privacy rights for individuals. It applies to organisations processing Personal Data which have an establishment within the EU and also those organisations which operate outside the EU but offer goods or services to, or monitor the behaviour of, individuals in the EU. The GDPR is applicable from 25 May 2018.
School Data – We collate Schools Data held in the common domain which we supply to school suppliers based on “Legitimate Interest”. The GDPR sets out six lawful grounds for processing, one of which is processing under the Legitimate Interests of a Controller, including those of a Controller to which the Personal Data may be disclosed, or of a Third Party. We carry out and hold for each School Supplier a Legitimate Interest Assessment, ensuring as far as we can reasonably assess, that they are a legitimate business marketing a potentially suitable product or service to the schools Data we are supplying for their sole use.
School Suppliers’ Data – We collate contact details, type of business and requirements for marketing that clients have shared with us. We are not in the business of selling, renting or trading client data with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. We are processing this data under the lawful Legitimate Interest group as directed under GDPR.
